Prologue

"Will you tell me the truth, Mrs. Raghuvanshi?" he asked, his voice laced with anger and betrayal.

She flinched at his tone, her heart pounding in her chest. "What truth, Ishat?" she whispered, barely finding her voice.

His jaw clenched, his eyes burning with fury. "The truth about why the hell you leaked crucial details about my company!" he roared, his voice echoing through the room.

Her breath caught in her throat. "What? I... I did it because—"

"You have no excuses, do you?" he cut her off, his voice dripping with disgust. "You gave my company’s secrets to my rival. And tell me, what exactly is your relationship with that bastard?"

Tears welled in her eyes. "It's not what you think, Ishat," she pleaded, her voice trembling.

He let out a bitter laugh. "Oh, it's exactly what I think. In fact, I was a fool to ever trust you, to love you—when you never truly loved me," he spat.

"That's not true!" she cried, stepping closer, desperation in her eyes.

But he stepped back, his gaze cold and unyielding. "The only truth here is this—sign these divorce papers, walk out of my life, and never show me your face again."

With that, he signed the papers, sealing their fate with a single stroke of his pen.
